SELF DEFENSE IS NOT A CALL FOR VIOLENCE! Quite the opposite. Outgunned people who have bravely fought for freedom under attack by foreign powers across the world were valiant RESISTANCE fighter. The pain of the unprovoked attack on their people is a big part of what brought them together. If they had allowed themselves to fall into the trap of being the initial aggressor, public support would not have been so easy to come by. Revolutions are counter punches to oppressive over each. You have to suffer the pain of the hit first before you can strike back.

Nope. The way I see it, they want some violence they can attribute to Trump supporters to justify the gun grab. Without it, it makes it a hell of a lot harder to justify going after people's guns and means when they do a whole lot MORE people will fight to protect their guns.
If they can portray taking the guns as a 'sensible' reaction to Trump supporters violently attacking elected officials, a lot of people who value their gun rights will be suckered into thinking temporary suspension is a necessary evil reaction and was not the original plan all along.
As Trump said, hold the line. Let them show themselves to be the villains and there will be many more joining the cause.
