Handshake troll or not, he's tapping into a feeling I saw a lot right after the storming. And while I'm not ready to say "Trump stabbed us in the back", it is clear calling people there with no plan and hoping nobody would do anything rash was a bad idea and that he did not understand just how outraged his supporters really are.

Very few on this forum thought the thing was supposed to be a peaceful protest after all.
