Wanna know when this censorship really began? When they started removing comment sections from the majority of news sites.

It always seemed like whenever I would read a negative article, I could always read the comments and see how people really felt. This has been going on much longer than people can fathom.

Gab created a plug-in to remedy the comment sections being removed. You could comment on any page.

It never took off because gab was banned on mobile, which is where a significant portion of activity comes from

It’s still around, I think the meta layer it creates is one of the best innovations on the internet in recent years
