"Launch Chrome" 0 % chance of me ever installing that browser on my phone. Guess I'll do Gab from Desktop. Not big on mobile apps anyway. Come to think of it, I can just do the Gab website from my phone. Apps are sort of useless when you're walking around with a thousand dollar computer in your pocket.
I only had clicked this post thinking "iOS? How is that possible". On Android, you can install an app without the store, but on iOS, that is not possible. Reading your instructions, they are the procedures for making web site shortcuts on the home screen. Maybe it is full-screen so you think it is not the web browser. You could long-click a link and see how it shows the same context menu as your browser.

You can do it from Brave browser on mobile.
Thanks
So, it is not an Android/iOS app but just a shortcut to the mobile web site.
Not exactly. It's a standalone app without the browser interface junk.

Well sure it's the browser, but who cares? It gets the job done.
