I have floated the Pence is not a traitor theory in my head recently. If the plan was to flush out the traitors in order to arrest the, then I think that is the role he had to play. Time will tell.

I’d love to think this... but the state legislators also sent Pence letters to say the Biden electors were illegal and to do Trump ones (or at least I heard they had), and Pence refused. I just don’t know.
