A mailing list is intellectual property... usually belonging to whoever assembled it. I can't imagine that the Trump Campaign relied on this company to develop its mailing list, especially given the tech savvy it demonstrated over the years. (Remember the instant metrics they reported after each rally?). I also can't imagine they would risk ownership of that list... and mass electronic communication is an industry with many players able to provide services. This move by Campaign Monitor is certainly vindictive and inconvenient - but should be quickly remedied.

That's cool and everything what we really need is some organization to physically go after these types of things that happen
