What's the alternative though? They're not going to say "hey maybe we should stop being asshole tyrants?" The choice appears to be between

Sidney said a month ago that they wanted this to be obvious. The goal is crackdowns. Eliminating the Bill of Rights.
They will attempt to remove our weapons first, that way we will have no voice or means of redress.
