Purge your mail, contacts, files whatever... but leave the mailbox open and forward emails to your protonmail so that you can see what services are still tied to gmail.
Also this will prevent someone else from taking your old identity and abusing it in some way!

That's basically what I did.
All I actually get in my Gmail is spam anyway, Google can keep all the unread advertisements for natural male enhancement.
Is protonmail better than say Reagan.com?
