Best path as of now is probably not buying a ready-to-go phone like pine or whatever, but maybe buying a decent cheap phone thats got decent specs and not chinese, and installing lineage or some variant OS on. Then work through the pain of the pros and cons of daily usage. Have your current phone as is in the meantime until the other is functional to a good degree. Maybe keep the other phone and have it turned off. Seems like a HUGE market now with demand at all time high for non android and apple shit.
Android is open source - you don't have to run Google's OS on top of it. You can run a secured independent alternative instead - unless you want a locked phone for some godforsaken reason.
