I prayed.
I have been a liberal all my adult life, spiritual but always questioning, analyze everything. I felt out of common options for me after DC, so I thought much, but a few responses made me consider praying.
So I did, not sure if I did good or the right way, went out to my local park, and prayed in the open air to God. Thanked him for the well timed points in my life that kept me going, and the wife I have found along the way. I asked for protection of Trump and his people and family. I offered if he needs my energy to take it if it makes Trump and his support that much safer.
Not sure what may come of it, but I do feel calmer for doing so.
You do not need to ask God for forgiveness when you invite Jesus into your heart, because you are completely forgiven by grace. This is the difference between New Covenant Christianity and "Legal" old testament "Law". When Jesus was born, when he taught, he put the shaming of the old testament away. It is by grace we are able to leave our old selves behind and live without the crush of our past mistakes. (Self forgiveness for regrets is a person's hardest work, though) When you embrace Jesus and his love for you, you become a new person, you are not the same person you were before. This is the epitome of "your past does not define you". Humans? They need forgiveness from each other. And to forgive. Forgiveness rips away shackles. And gratitude for all that we have, is the key to abundance. A good person to listen to to get the feeling for New Covenant is Pastor Joseph Prince.
