Her: "I realize I have negative bias towards Mexicans and a positive bias towards blacks". She also said she learned it in high school but I'm only two years younger and we went to the same high school. Why not just do it now and get it over with and save yourself while you can. Disown your daughter and have nothing to do with her until she changes. What I say may seem harsh and cold, but you will be mentally happier as will they. You both try to hold onto something that just isn't working and it is only a source of grief. The brother would call her gay and when I went to her home (when we both had a break during college) she just busted up crying before we got to her house.
I convinced her to follow her dream of playing soccer and she went overseas and played. She was extremely smart and I gave her confidence and when she moved back after a couple years and wanted a dog, I told her to just do it and screw what her mom thought cuz she was fully capable of it, and she did.
And wouldn't you know, after getting away from her family and convincing her to screw what others thought and do what she wanted to do, she decided she wasn't a healthy weight and started eating more and the anorexia went away and last I knew she was on the skinny side (due to genetics) but looked healthy.
We didn't work out in the end cuz I wanted a rural farm life and she wanted a busy city life, but we both helped each other mature immensely. I was pretty immature in alot of ways that she helped me on lol. And she ended up becoming a regional director of the ymca.
Point is, sometimes getting away from "family" is the best thing that can happen to you.
