The problem is the same as with politics. You may not care about big tech, but big tech cares about you. If you don't stay involved you won't be able to just go fishing. Try ignoring a murderer or rapist and see how that goes.

We played outside, rode our bikes without helmets and without fear. We stayed out all night long on Halloween filling our pillow cases with candy (without parents lingering 10' behind us) and the world was a much different place. It was better. We have to not let them control us through addiction to their tools.
We have to maintain a healthy connection to the land, our country, nature, and REALITY.
BUT - we also have to make sure we defend all borders, including digital ones, and all entry points of power.
