I always read the NYT looking for what they are not saying. I don't want to take any liberties with what I just read, but it looks to me like she checked in to see if Milley was aware of any military movement against them. Odd to see a times article reaffirm the obvious about chain of command.
The military isn't doing shit unless they have ACTUAL HARD EVIDENCE that people in our government were involved with the Dominion election-rigging system. For them to step into the middle of a political fight, at the behest of ANY politician, would absolutely be the end of the country, with no way back. To say the brass at the top aren't also political animals looking for big budgets and wishing for a nice war to fight, is ridiculous, but there IS a line between the miserableness we're going through now and a military junta.
We can see how far they are willing to go.
