They own their own datacenters? And DNS? And routing?

They can be banned. Internet is too centralized right now. Starlink when?

If they own the IPs they can totally setup a DNS server themselves. The Internet is relatively easy to decentralize, the big issue is having someone to trust to do it and the biggest issue is having people do it.

You can just add a few DNS servers' IPs in your configuration of your computer or router and bam, a whole new internet

Yeah but how many people know how to change their DNS. I know how most of my friends and family don't.

Build them a super simple Raspberry Pi loaded with Pi Hole. You can deploy it in 5-minutes of any home network your family members use. This allows you to route their home internet through a specific DNS server. It also helps block ads.

Basically a $40 microcomputer, two clock install of Pi Hole, a Cat6 cable, edit one tiny setting on their router and you’re in business.
