Might want to explain the how. Personally one has to accept that a family members inability to use you as a trusted source of information is a big interpersonal relationship issue in which the division over politics is only a symptom. In other words if they don’t listen to you, do they trust you over other things? Do they even really love you as a person or just the role you serve in their lives?
