No they will not side with you; they want you dead. You need to talk with a good lawyer, not with school and certainly not with law enforcement. I think giving the name of the person who emailed you to the um... proper people (hopefully you know some people that can help you out here and I will not specify further what I mean here), would be a great way to handle that aspect, since this person will be doing it to others.
