You can call lawyers and sometimes get a free assessment of your situation and what kind've legal situation you might be in to inform your decisions. And then some might represent you free if you can get any sort've damages, especially if there is harassment possibly. I would think calling a lawyer or five is always better than not, no matter what your situation is because you always need a heads up on the law whether you are innocent, guilty, or whatever. Law is complicated.

For free isn't exactly accurate. To be technical its called a contingent agreement, which means they would be owed a percentage of damages collected on behalf of a plaintiff.

In this case, that's practically free given that he didn't expect to be in this situation presumably before today.

That said, for this type of case, maybe the right attorney would give him some solid advice that echoes what others are already saying here.

But the wrong attorney might tell him to turn himself in to the Feds.

Either way, nobody is going to represent a maga kid because he thinks some lefty dipshit is about to get him cancelled from school.

That will only happen afterward.
