You can always win people over, but probably not a lot of the ones online. Stick to the stories that you can prove overwhelmingly and that would most upset about and work from there. Once enough seeds of distrust get sown into the media their narratives weaken incredibly.

A big problem both the left and right have is understanding that not everyone is like them. We assume that shaming people won't work because it doesn't work on us. We assume logical argument will work on others because it works on us. The left assumes the opposite.
A big part of convincing people is to tailor what you are saying to your audience. If you are talking to a leftist just use confidence with shame and emotional arguments. Don't bother with logic.
The Left has sided with their own SWORN ENEMY (The Establishment) to defeat an occasional rival (the Right). Thats like siding with Satan himself just to defeat your next door neighbor whome you are beefing with. These people (if you can even call them that anymore) are clearly beyond reason and logic. You're giving bad folks that hate you business and by being there you're giving one more reason for others that you communicate with to stay on Facebook.
You have to figure out how to be persuasive and pick your battles. Arguing on Facebook just seems like the dumbest thing as you're exposing yourself needlessly, but I suppose it could be helpful to post small rebuttles here and there in incorrect stories as so many ones in the media turn out wrong and in such a way you give them an out and don't humiliate them.

We won over plenty of left leaning folks. Walk away was real and I know plenty that voted for Trump. He had like 11 million more votes than in 2016, where did those come from? Probably more.
Those were a different kind of leftist. There is absolutely no one left as a Democrat who is a principled, honest person. Zero. Not a single person can support the shit that is happening unless they are bad people. These people respond to emotion, shaming, and most importantly, POWER. They will never support Trump until they think he will be the on the winning side.
You don't spend enough time outside of your comfort zone. I know a lot of great ones that are stubborn and listen to the MSM, but generally pretty great folks. Some have done some pretty good things for me. Even they don't like the direction a lot of the Democrats have taken, but habits are tough to break. Trump is slowly winning over a good bit of them and we need to do the same, always being the best we can. Let's learn from Christ's example, Trump's too.

We need to win people over and some of Trump's biggest and best supporters were former leftists. Pick your battles as some folks have terrible judgement and it would be like moving a boulder with your bare hands. Sun Tzu mentioned how important it was to win over enemies so you didn't have to fight them and he was incredibly right on that.

I think the politicians and news knows the truth, but they just show one side. Those who only see that one side live in a different reality. There are two different realities even if we share the same world.
I think there is one reality viewed many different ways. The perception of that one reality is governed by motive, and education.

Actually, it's not that simple. They live more in a parallel universe. I know and am friends with far too many of them. It's sort of like a Christian speaking to a Morman, many of the words we use are the same but the meanings are COMPLETELY different. I find it's better to ask questions and get them thinking. Yes, most of the time they cling to their sacred cows, but sometimes you can stump them. Show them that we're actually all seeking the same goal.
One thing I've yet to be able to convince my left friends of: Trump Voters are NOT racists. They really have bought into this notion that white supremacists are everywhere. It's like the "demon in every doorknob" fear of old-world Christianity. they really are scared of these racists. As if every trump voter is Timothy McVay. I've come to feel it's a kind of psychosis. Because it's freaking WEIRD.
But in context, most (if not all) of these leftists I'm friends with, are upper-middle-class, not affected by much, living in a comfy little bubble. They have no real notion of what minority communities deal with, and even when I talk to them about it (because I actually do experience what goes on personally) they act like the pain or suffering isn't as important as "The Cause" of Leftism. They still don't seem to grasp that the mission they have picked up might cause the exact opposite effects of what they want to occur. Their comfort in life doesn't allow them to believe their methods destroy more than they mend.
That to me is blind laziness. Their passion for their ideals supersedes their sorrow for the pain of the poor community. The fact they wear the banner of "Progressive" seems to mean more to them than actually fixing the problem.
