I'm guessing at some point to be involved in the GOP you had to be swamp to some degree at least. I'm guessing the MAGA movement allowed people to actually express their true america first beliefs. Actions speak louder than words and Pompeo has been balls out MAGA like 90% of the time.
I agree on his actions, and he's been one of my favorite people in the administration, but we've been betrayed by nearly everyone, and it would no longer come as a surprise if someone well-trusted were to be revealed as a traitor in disguise again. They won't reveal all their aces in one go.
