This is how it works: they have apps that harvest all of the text on this site. All of that text goes into a database, or their data warehouse and heuristics are run on all of the text. They can therefore take a very good temperature of the users and the site as a whole. Nobody in the alphabet is opening a browser to this site. They have all of the text going through analytics, and determine who to target or watch more closely.
That’s pretty much how I figured it worked. Along with keywords that cause automatic flags.
Scary stuff though, especially seeing new accounts that are suddenly gung-ho, using odd phrasing and such, or just users that leave you with questions and concerns that you can’t quite put your finger on. There is zero doubt in my mind that people infiltrate specifically to make the site look bad. Not that there aren’t bad apples everywhere..... sometimes I can’t believe some of the stuff I see people feeling free to post.
