AND REMEMBER, people in the military and law enforcement are ONLY LOYAL TO THEIR PENSIONS.
They don't give a crap about you or the constitution. The ONLY reason they joined is because they had NO OTHER OPTIONS.
Wow. We're lumping in service men and women into the anti-police sentiment side of things now?
I served my country for 7 years as an active duty Officer in the USMC. I had Marines die under my command in Afghanistan.
Trust me when I say this, the vast majority of service men and women believe in this country and it's ethos. We keep our honor clean and will protect our Constitution.
Otherwise, u/circusmonkey let me ask you this. Where were you for your entire life prior to 2016? What did you stand for besides your own interests? What has your fight been?
In the end, it's easy to be a Patriot when it takes little personal risk and courage.
If shit hits the fan will you stand and fight if the bullets fly? If so, who will you look toward to lead you?
I'm currently a natl guardsman. While this is true. there are plenty of people in(especially newer soldiers and officers) that don't give a fuck. theyre just doing it for the shitty paycheck.
By the way, do you have anything to say that would calm our nerves? Not many vets on here understandably reveal that they served. But I and many other pedes are getting extremely concerned and we are facing a dark future. So from your point of view from being in the military, what are your thoughts?
Woah I was in the military for four years never did I want to kill anyone or hope to kill anyone most of us do it for the GI Bill, job training and to serve our country
I was in college studying to enter a very high paying career field. I dropped out and enlisted in the Infantry because I wanted to give back to the country that took me in and gave me opportunities I could never have dreamt of otherwise (also because I saw videos of Rangers and wanted to do what they were doing). I just thought it would be cool, and I enjoyed my time in. Made a bunch of friends, traveled, learned some great skills. Now I’m out, completed my studies and work in tech (and support both my wife and myself comfortably on a single salary).
I served with guys who had engineering degrees, dudes who had a fuckton of money and never had to work, people from all different backgrounds. Hell, I had a medic who recently completed medical school after getting out. We had people from overseas who lived in absolute shitholes and wanted to be Americans - ALL of them were extremely serious about America and were willing to put their lives on the line because they had it much worse off over where they came from.
Very few of us had no other options. For most of us, we were there because we wanted to be there. One of the guys who I served with had a Masters in some field of mathematics. One of the guys I went to OSUT with had an MBA and was bored of the business world - he wanted to earn his Long Tab. Another had an MBA, spent time kicking doors and now flies helicopters in 160th SOAR.
I wasn’t born here, and if I were back in my country of birth, I probably would have had many choices for what I wanted to do with my life... but that’s not what was in the cards for me. I busted my ass, earned every opportunity that was presented to me, and decided to take a break from a very cushy life to give back. I, as well as many others, had MANY other options - we just felt that at the time, that was the appropriate place to be.
Realize that people have all different reasons for joining, and while there are the crazy ones, there are also those with a true love for this nation. Some who can trace their lineage back to the Revolution and wear that with pride. People who would happily give up their lives for the Constitution. Many have families who they want to give the best shot at a comfortable life. Get in deep with a bunch of Infantrymen for a bit and you’ll see that most of us just want to hang out, grill up some good food, not get taxed out the ass, not lose our 2A rights and would much rather be at home on the couch with a beer than out there rounding people up to send to the camps.

In my experience, the biggest shitbags in garrison were some of the best Marines when forward deployed.
HEAR! HEAR!

Matter of fact, they WANT to kill people.
Yes, but only commies.
Commies aren’t people
But they taste just like chicken.

Yeah OPs comment was gay as fuck, that was some low energy shit
Source?
That was either Federal Protective Service or Cap Hill Police, not National Guard.
The NG didn't shoot her dead because they weren't on scene. That appeared to be Secret Service.
Most likely hired private security for some congressman or senator.
