Setup your own server and run something self hosted. Things like Matrix.
Only way to be sure you're safe is to run it yourself. I run all kinds of stuff on my home server, not that function (yet) but plenty of others.

Signal. Signal is the best thing out there. Hands down. Go to signal.org
but it uses your phone #. That's a big no no in my opinion.
Don't know what to tell you man. Either have to host your own, or setup on the best option you can find. Lots of people say it's the most secure thing out there....
