Gab phone is basically an Android phone with graphineos. It will be a bit slower than your average Android phone but with much less functionality because of the lack of apps. Hopefully they can get around that

Ill buy one, if for nothing else than to support Gab.

yeah it is worth. Hopefully they smooth out any kinks. Just dont be fooled. The apple iphone technically will still be more secure. But you dont need an apple id or google account to run this phone

I figure itll be a good replacement for my existing de-googled phone (original nexus). If its at least as good as E is Ill be stoked. https://e.foundation/

Holy fuck original as inold as fuck? Or just one of the recent ones? Lol

I actually think they might end up using a flashed nexus phone. But I'm not sure. Could be maybe just a Chinese one like one plus or red magic.

I'm guessing using a GAB phone, and then adding extra security with what apps you use would work.

VPN Signal messaging Proton email DDG browser--Brave if they ever make one for mobile DDG search engine or another very private search engine

Yes those apps would work. You would have to sideload then which is not hard but I'm sure the people in gab would stream line it.

Just if you plan to use navigation or any app that needs to call back to Google services, it won't work well or at all

Duck Duck Go sounds nice for privacy but they haven't even figured out how to enable IPv6 yet.

I just want a phone that can use Brave browser and lets me make and receive calls and send and receive texts. That's it. That's all I care about. A GPS functionality would be great as well, but even in my 30s I know how to read a physical map.

It will do just fine for that. And signal as a messaging app . Though I'm uncertain if it's actually good because elon musk and Jack dorsey promote it. It's freely available in the app store with no issues from big tech saying that app must be taken down because of bad users.

For navigation you can also just buy anav unit for your car if anything

OpenStreetMaps is semi-usable. It's a great concept but it has the same sjw vulnerability that injected into the linux project. It feels a bit like google earth before it got really good.

Technically no because you can just use a browser version. So you won't have that great app expirience, but you will have a good expirience still Because Google kind of made all websites work on mobile is they want to show up on search results.

One issue you will encounter though is navigation. There are ways to add back Google app functionally so that you can use Google services again, but then it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the phone lol

On YouTube you can checkout a channel called techlore (I think) the guy has video breakdown of the entire Google free lifestyle

As per the lack of apps I'm fine with that knowing that big tech is going to eventually kick us off their platforms. Mobile sites and browsers are exploding in features and functionality. Hate notifications from apps I only use for specific stuff anyway. I'm slowly learning about other app stores where one can buy apps that are also offered on the play store.
