  1. Having a governmental police force abstracts justice somewhere between it's cause and effect. The myriad regulations and prohibitions and bureaucratic processes inherent to any police action serve to isolate and dehumanize both any potential complainant and any perpetrator.
  2. Having a governmental police force is inferior for retaining order to having armed men directly in the community that may be affected by crime or violence. I know many neighborhoods I have participated in that would actually be much safer but for the fear that someone would 'call the police'
  3. The average police officer is actually a low-minded dolt incapable of ethical thought or discerning capabilities because of low pay and standards. The fathers and sons of any community with a direct interest in self preservation would do much better.
  4. A governmental police force is inherently susceptible to politics unbecoming to the communities they serve causing intense conflicts over matters of perceived justice. We can see this with rural white police officers and urban black police officers very easily.
  5. The idea, in this day and age of internet and remote work, that order must be maintained or that the peace must be kept is outdated. If they want to go and burn down their hood and have ultraviolence every night, why should it be stopped? We no longer have to travel through or work in those areas.

Imagine a town that has on its entry banner along with all of the silly awards and Rotarian badges a big red sign that says, warning this area is not patrolled by police.

Libertarians have warned of the dangers of a police state for decades. Only now is the populist paleocon right (MAGA) realizing this

I agree with all of this. It's going to be very difficult to get traction on this issue though, especially under President Trump.

I think we could start with federal police, ATF and FBI, no need to immediately go balls to wall.

They should just make the ATF the AT. I think that would be hilarious.
