Do you have to cast? Roku can play streams directly. Has free options like pluto for tv

Roku company was incorporated in February 2008, based in Palo Alto, California, with Netflix as an investor of $6 million, to build a player

Ahh. Didn't realize investor == owner. Odd that they allow Amazon and Hulu and Disney and literally every streaming service on there.

The first Roku model, developed in collaboration with Netflix, was introduced in May 2008.

The first Roku model, the Roku DVP N1000, was unveiled on May 20, 2008. It was developed in partnership with Netflix

Of course they had to collaborated with Netflix. Just like the collaborated with Disney and ABC etc. If your going to be absolutist about it then you would be left with nothing. The TV was made with parts from china almost exclusively.

If u want to bite the bullet...new tvs are preloaded with apps to stream--HULU, FUBOTV, disney+, etc...you can find apps that stream TV with local channels that aren't fascists...most new 4k tvs are internet ready---

Plex is great for movies/tv and antenna. They also can grab some other media and podcasts. But not sure about straight casting.
