My iPad has been demanding that I update every couple of minutes. Seems like they’re desperate that we do so. Anybody else encountering the same thing?

The message itself from Apple is not anything special, just the typical request to update the device now or wait later, but it’s the fact that it’s been incredibly frequent. I can still send you a screenshot, but it wouldn’t be very interesting.

If you update your emergency alerts are switched off. You can turn them back on at the moment but who the fuck knows what happens later.

Thanks for the link! Having an emergency notification system turned off by default should be just as illegal as disabling it entirely. This does make me hopeful that Trump is planning something, because otherwise they would have no need for this.

All good. Was the notification received today and does it stipulate a version number?

Yes the notifications were received today, thankfully all of them after I read the warnings on here and from Lin not to update. The version number it lists is 14.3 but that’s only because I haven’t updated it in over a month, and I didn’t get any notifications about it until this evening, which is certainly interesting timing.

They may be trying to turn off emergency notifications and install spyware. People have been talking about it here.

For the interim I'd suggest NO.
