Get rid of all your accounts. Shop only at local small businesses. Get rid of this poison in your life. Meet people in person. Join community groups and church/synagogue groups.

Great concerns. I agree too many people don't seem to be interested in making new friends at places. I think joining adult sports teams at rec centers or clubs, such as book clubs or any type of hobby, would be good. At volunteer places, the key would be consistently volunteering there over time to build relationships instead of going just once in a while. When people start to see the same person over and over, they're more apt to start up conversations and relationships.

The age divide is interesting too. I think that is another problem with social media. It has divided people into their own silos where they don't interact and receive input from other demographics, so they become stuck in their own bubbles. The young need to hear from older people in order to gain wisdom and the old need to be around the young to feel alive.
