In large scale traditional infantry combat who forces pitch against each other along a series of lines. Think WW1 trenches.
One side begins heavy artillery/mortar barrage against the other. Two intended effects. Inflict casualties and destroy morale. As the barrage drags on and morale is compromised, increasing amounts of troops will feel the need to "do something" to either get to safety, fight back, whatever.
Fatal mistake. When you finally leave your position you are picked off by either the artillery itself or enemy troops.
Same thing happening now. They are trying to demoralize you and force you to act. They want you to do/say something either in person or online that they can use to ruin your life or throw you in jail.
Stay in your foxhole. Gray Man. Lay low. You are not surrendering, you are being smart enough to fight another day. We will counter their attack and we will need everybody we can get.
That mindset is going to lead to doing nothing until you're in the gulag saying "i just knew they would do this!" And huffing like small girl.
Truth is, you dont have the balls to pull a trigger if needed. Which is fine. But be a supporter from behind the gate and admit it, if that's how you feel.
