Since Apple may be updating phones so they cannot receive Emergency Alerts, it is entirely possible Google-owned Android may do the same. I hope this helps you pedes. Thanks!!!! I was trying to find this on my android. After a few bypasses my phone will automatically do the system update.

PS - On some phones you may have to use the search bar in the system tab to find the "about" and "developer options."

I just found how to do in on an I phone;

In settings, open General. Scroll down to software Update. Open and find Automatic Updates and toggle off.

I hope this is another false report, but who knows.

I don't have an android, but I appreciate this and will save it just in case I know someone who does. This is one of my favorite things about this site -- all the good and helpful info pedes post. Much appreciated.

Or just go to system updates and turn it off...
