Google, Apple, and Amazon have shown everyone they're going to censor speech they don't approve of.

So who still wants to have a 'smart home' where all of your major appliances are connected to the internet and controlled by the department of truth?

Who wanted to in the first place? How much real convenience did that stuff provide? Take agency, including physical agency over your life.

Based on the number of products on store shelves, quite a few people.

Heading into the 2019 holiday season, I saw $160 "smart mugs" that were wifi enabled and controlled the temperature of your coffee through a phone app. I wondered at the time if that was some sort of high water mark for ridiculous electronic devices.
