The reason people left WhatsApp is that it is not secure, end to end, for group chats. The group chat keys reside on the WhatsApp server. I personally quite using WhatsApp when the subject of my group conversation showed up in my Facebook ad traffic.
That is when I switched to Signal. All Signal keys are kept on the user devices. It does create limitations, in that you can’t administer your group, but the group key belongs to you.
signal and telegram both pass through google and Amazon servers right at the point of encryption and message exchange so...i wouldn't trust it. Also Schiff had sent a memo to DHS about him getting intel that the feds were intercepting "secure message app messages" and using them as actionable intel during the Portland riots so...
Signal was pretty well regarded in the Infosec community because the source code is available and some of the top code warrior security dudes started the project.
I think Moxie Marlinspike was one of the guys who started it, not sure if Whitfield Diffie was involved or not. These are not fly by night script kiddies.
I vaguely remember Bruce Schneier vouching for Signal a few years back. It's been a while though, so don't quote me on this.
Not vouching for Signal myself, but I did use it in the past. It would be worth looking into what serious security people have to say about it before condemning it. Just because Amazon hosts something doesn't mean they have a backdoor into it, and if used properly they can't just crack the encryption. It has several layers of encryption/key exchange and secret keys you can verify with who you're chatting with, at least it did when I used it.
@jack is a pedophile
Hes gloating because parler was in the #1 spot before it was removed
WRONG. It's PANIC. He's telling all manor of swamp people to stop reaching out to him outside of Signal.
Like an IT manager telling you team we love slack SO USE IT.
If this thing was truly secure, they would ban it from app stores.
It's not popular at all
Last I check, signal was number 2 on the app store
That's them manipulating. I can't name a signal person who uses it or even knows of it. Most people use WhatsApp or Facebook messenger. Ask around.
I use it & a small group of ppl I know...
These shills are here to spread misinformation. The app is open source

I know, people are saying that it is not encrypted as it exits the device into the server so to say. But it is.
I have never seen them this scared to be honest. Take it easy.

Demonstrate signal messages leaving unencrypted before entering a server.
Who makes Signal?
Who makes Telegram
These nutz
Speaking from direct experience: The CIA and NSA hate it when their adversaries use signal.

Elon Musk is a globalist, just like Dorsey.
I was thinking this too.
Elon is way up there
He is based actually.
Jack probably loves it because you can set messages to erase themselves. Thus eliminating your own evidence trail.
Big Mike hates signal
I heard that it’s not owned by Dorsey but some former security dudes from twitter helped start signal...who knows?...
