People really need to actively manage their retirement accounts. I moved all of mine to an independent Edward Jones advisor a couple of years ago and completely voided my portfolio of social media companies.
I was planning on putting my notice in next week (getting the fuck out of this blue state and corporate progressive mandated bullshit) and wasn’t sure what to do with my 401k, glad I read this thread.
Rollover IRA. Go for a low fee ETF. NO active management by a "financial expert" (vampire). Vanguard or similar (Fidelity, Schwab, etc. these days all have similar ETFs).
Do not withdraw. Do not hand the account over to some "guru". You are smart enough to do this yourself. See my post above about "Boglehead" thinking.
It’s with Fidelity right now but the company I work for has Nancy fucking Pelosi’s husband on the board. Can’t be good. Either way, I’m resigning and I’m going to have to move it somewhere, just need to figure out the best option. I have a call with my sister’s money guy tomorrow and he’s not a guru and has advised very good investments for her.
