Vitamin D (extremely important if you do not presently take it)
a ZINC ionophore (hydroxychloroquine, EGCG, quercetin, lots of green tea)
Vitamin C (anecdotally known to fight cold and influenza)
Loss of smell and taste is also a symptom of ZINC deficiency. You want to take ZINC for sure and vitamin D 4000IU and what ever ionophore you can get.
The most effective ZINC is Zinc Sulfate from a bottle with drops applied to the tongue. Daily 220mg-440mg in drops. Don't take ZINC with dairy, that absorbs it and reduces uptake.
For the ionophore,
Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is the best. It is not unsafe unless you have really bad heart problems, but even then risk is so slight it is likely to be COVID hysteria. Physicians have been prescribing it for years without even testing or even asking about heart disease. But if your doctor does not offer it, two over the counter supplements have laboratory-proven ZINC ionophore activity:
EGCG (the active ingredient in green tea) is ~75% as effective as HCQ. So If you see a dose of 200mg HCQ, / 0.75 ~= 250mg. Find a quality EGCG extract take that, or drink lots of green tea.
Quercetin is shown to be ~50% as effective as HCQ. So 200mg HCQ ~= / 0.5 = 400mg. Quercetin capsule doses can be 1000mg so no problem.
