I gave my elderly parents an Epoch subscription for Christmas. They were getting most of their news from MSM (fake news). Epoch has been enjoyable for them giving them the conservative news they were not getting elsewhere. Overall just a great traditional newspaper. They even had a $1 trial for a month. Highly recommend!

I agree. I have seen no signs of being compromised from Epoch and NTD. I think they are our most legit and safest nws source right now. Those who were truly disconnected from the Matrix knew Fox was just part of the fake show to control people on the right. Breitbart revealed the same after the illegitimate election. Well they certainly believe some weird shit. You can check the Wikipedia about Falun Gong to find out what they believe. Basically, it began with the CCP leaders own superstition of Qigong and supernatural ability. Li Hongzhi then created this 'religion' based on Qigong, Taoism, Buddhism and traditional Chinese cultural thoughts. Then it grew too popular and CCP can't control its development. It became too much of a political instability for CPP so they decided to get rid of them. From what I know, their key message is Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. What's controversial is the part where they believe through certain practice they can somehow become healthy and live longer and become transcendent. Their most important 'bible' is Li Hongzhi's interpretation of Qigong, Taoism and Buddhism. I don't know much about religion so I will leave the judgement to others. But they are not bad people. They are in some degree like mormons. Both Li Hongzhi and Joseph Smith are excellent bullshit artists.

Falun Gong do not burn templates, mosques, and churches. Most Falun Gong followers place Christian God as one of the highest forms of deities. If this sounds strange, Chinese have traditionally practiced paganism, with many gods occupying different hierarchy.

A survey back in 2005 shows among 251 Falun Gong members who live in the US, 21% have phd, 18% have master's degree, 35% have bachelor's degree. Their household annual income data is also high, 10% make over 200k, 7% 150k-200k, 30% 100k-150k, 40% 50k-100k, 11% below 50k. Their members are not poor. They also make money from selling books, show business and running ADs on their platform. It's the CCP's talking points that Falun Gong is funded by US government. They may have taken money from National Endowment for Democracy and US congress and the former Taiwanese government during Bush time. Trump administration tried to give Falun Gong software 20M but the court didn't rule in their favor. The elite members of Falun Gong seems to be working their jobs in day, and working for Falun Gong media at night. And the offical stats from the Chinese government is in 1999 Falun Gong had over 80 million believers worldwide, I guess they can get a lot money from donations from its own members. Take the host of Sound of Hope news, Wei Fang for example, he used to run IT company in bay area and then became a host. For these zealots taking down CCP is a mission, a cause. And the last thing CCP want is a war with US cus they know how good the US military is. So that plot theory, from every angle, doesn't stand.
