The military probably could have handled the Taliban, the actual force that is not the broader ideology (for that it would've required other tactics), the problem was the goal never was to truly handle the Taliban.
Look at how quickly ISIS got bowled under the Trump admin when under the Obama admin they were doing great (and receiving neat arms drops from the CIA)
spez: Not contending that if everyone rose up and used their guns the military would be in serious trouble, but it'd be a hard fight if it really came to that, the swamp creatures would be pushing for eradication this time, unlike what they did with terror groups in the third world.
I think this conversation needs a totally new assessment.
It takes a totally different type of authority or military force to impose tyranny on their own state.
Middle East was an enemy, Clear and defined. To convince a fighting force their own states are the enemy takes several stages, like firing good leadership, imposing new ideology i.e state control or Stalinism. It becomes dystopic because that system uses fear and paranoia. The leadership and vets purged from this force would fall back into population, inner rebellions would start. It's hard to gauge how far the military would split on this subject when it comes to actual Civil War. Drone Striking citizens, and door kicking in suburbs isn't gonna be a great tactic, Green Berets would be organizing their own fighting forces in their communities...They do that shit in Africa....So idk.
We also aren't a bunch of land farmers wielding make shift AK's without sights. We have nutrition, mobilization, and a plethora of resources. This is why cyber warfare and covert ops are the main components being used against us right now. I think they know they'd lose.
Also....Once these glowies understand their orders are coming straight from Beijing maybe they'll find a shred of humanity to not go along with it...Because let's be real. America is the greatest country on earth, and you gotta be one big commie asshole to hate it.
