Many coups have been started by colonels, not generals. There are plenty of examples of both in history, but sometimes when the upper military ranks are so enmeshed in the current political establishment its the rank below them that take matters into their own hands.
My concern is most are still clinging on to normalcy so they won't.

I do hold hope for this. I can't for the life of me imagine why it wouldn't be, and I don't think we would initially know about it
One reason t would not be - military generals could be swamp deep state. How do you reason if you have not even imagined such possibility?
