Nah its not bad i started a few weeks ago from scratch. Just get a few books and get licensed. Most emergency radio freq have switched to encryption so dont expect to hear eveything.
Not that I advocate breaking the law but "get licensed"? If it comes to the point of us using ham or any form of primitive communication methods then there is no need for licensing. Next is getting your electricity and water shut off for supporting our President!

yes, its an FCC violation. we hams take a test and go through a process to obtain a license. we do this so that ham doesnt become CB.
