IDK what they're thinking with this. Creating demand for alternative platforms. The whole scheme works only if they have monopolies.

True monopolies are no longer needed. Vertical Monopolies are stifling competition. Big tech and Uniparty are in complete lock step. I don't have faith in alt tech because they will be prohibited from apple and google stores. That alone keeps billions of people from ever getting onto alt tech apps. They don't have to compete anymore. The purge has started.

I feel like people should stop worrying about an app and just use a website. It’s almost the same thing as just saving an icon as a link on your phone and will take less memory on your phone, and maybe less fucking spying on your phone too.

Exactly. The Streissand effect more than makes up for the loss of platforms. Social media is a placebo anyways for reaching people, since everybody is ensconced in their own echo chamber. In a way, they are doing us a huge favor.

In Soviet Russia, People made bootleg recordings of western music on old x-ray film. We don't have it nearly that hard. We have email, direct messaging, and websites like this. Failing that, there is direct file transfer via usb, bluetooth, etc.

The more they go full Orwell, the more people are going know that they are being lied to and that they are not allowed to speak the truth.
