March 4th was the original Inauguration Day. It was changed for Franklin Roosevelt's 2nd term.

March 4th was the original Inauguration date until FDR changed it in the 1930s w/ the 20th Amendment to "todays" US Constitution (post-1871).
What many often forget, there are two US Constitutions - "The Constitution FOR The U.S." (organic, following our D.O.I.) and then the 2nd one "The Constitution OF The U.S." following the Act of 1871 which incorporated us as a corporation. The change of one letter in the title does make it a separate document.
