Another Canadian. The US is the only nation with any kind of future, and Canada is strapped to the US no matter how much our politicians pretend we can pivot. We'll be fine through exposure to the American economy alone.

The US needs to stay afloat if humanity is to have a chance of stability in the coming storm. If the US can survive the next few years, Europe will collapse and take out a big section of what we consider leftist governing systems.

Then again, the last collapse didn't teach them anything, so maybe its optimistic to think the collapse of Europe would spell the end of social democracy.
