I think problem with immigration is because most immigrants: a) no longer assimilate - they want country they come to to be just like country they left b) want free stuff c) work illegaly while citizens are taxed into space by government - so it's much cheaper to hire immigrants
If you take a look at old America to which Trump's grandfather immigrated these things were different: a) People had to assimilate, everything was in English b) There was no free stuff c) Taxes were very low and simple.

GCC is the only other big compiler that's open source, and it uses the GPL whcih is a copyleft license, and therefore communist.
also, Clang has a newer codebase so it's more flexible.

Not sure how it works in US, but in Poland programmers can work as self employed and pay 5% tax or on employment contract and pay around 50% tax, some people prefer standard employment to get social stuff even though it's totally not worth it.
