That was why it was formed, not what they believed in. Fascism philosophically goes back to the 19th century. Obviously my definition is an oversimplification, but that's one of the big tenets of Fascism.

I like to say:

Fascism: Take over all the companies and merge the leadership with the state.

Communism: Take over all the companies, kill the leadership, and replace them with Communist friends to merge with the state.

The Nazis nationalized hundreds of German companies.

America also nationalized companies in WW2. Are we Nazis now?

We stopped doing that after the war. So, no, we are not Nazis now.
