Raspberry Pis are small computers. While they may sound familiar from how Gamers use them for making RetroPi (emulators with games), There is a ton of great uses for these devices. They also run off linux which is a benefit to some.
If you are just looking at these DO NOT get discouraged. Guides are all over the internet and it may be best to start looking into them while you can

So what can you do?
Ad Blocker (aka PiHole, https://pi-hole.net/) - This nice device can block ads Network Wide. Yes this includes phones! Its customizable with a blacklist and whitelist.
Computer - While you have the Linux Based Rasbian OS, you can install other OS. There is ways for Windows Operating Systems, typically the older the better they run.(98, XP, etc.) I recommend you buy a newer raspberry pi for this. There is many other OS you can check out and see what's best for you.
Streaming Device - Why give your money to Roku or Amazon? With a Pi you can turn it into a Kodi Box or Android TV. Note some Apps like Netflix may have issues with showing HD streams as it will detect you arent using a official device regardless if you have a account or not.
DIY/Projects - This is where your brains can come in handy. You can make anything from a Crypto/Stock Ticker, Robots, Magic Mirror (smart Mirror), or screens you can place on your wall that will do nothing but constantly show a page (imagine installing a touchable screen beside your Thermostat that just shows TheDonald!)
Why the post? With how we have see companies turning on us we need to be ready to do without them. Ad Blockers have always been harassed and even bypassed by some companies. Not to mention deplatforming. Got a firestick? Whoops you are a Trump supporter you can't have a amazon account and it bricks your stick. We must be ready for all that comes.

Lol wtf am I reading? Is Raspberry Pi supposed to be some secret now? I don't discourage anyone from learning and using rPi's, but this isn't going to do jack shit against tech censorship. Guys Pi's can do some cool stuff, but it's a hobby. A good hobby, but a hobby still. Best uses for a pi is as an IO controller, and DIY projects like wifi garage door openers. Not going to help us against communism.
Also, PiHole is not a magical ad blocker anymore. The ads are more and more being served from the same source as the content, rendering ad blocking from a piHole a fraction as effective as it once was.
