I hate to agree, but you're right. The left definitely put in the leg work to seize power.
The right just wants to be left alone and so buried its collective head in the sand while the left went about slowly taking over literally every level of power in the entire goddamn world. The right never once stood its ground because it was never the hill to die on. Well, now they get to reap the fruits of over a century of labor. They can legally exterminate people on the right just for thrills at this point, and we'll continue to sit here complaining about how we need to pursue every legal avenue to stop it.
This is where liberty fails us. Free market philosophies clearly have major problems. I fully support the right of businesses to decide who they will serve and under what terms they will serve them, but that ideal must be balanced with the reality that if left unchecked it will result in totalitarianism.
Liberty only works when everyone values liberty. Since not everyone does, restrictions are necessary to prevent totalitarianism from arising. The situation now is so dire that drastic steps are needed to prevent Western values from dying out permanently.
This is the biggest problem. As Tim Pool said while imitating right wingers, "Please just leave ME alone, do whatever you want to them". Or as I kept hearing in other places after years of the left infringing on other peoples right "Well I am ready when they come for ME.

It's this idiotic idea that if one door closes, everyone just rushes to the next door.
"If Twitter shuts down, I'll just go to Parler" Parler gets shut down
"Parler gets shut down, I'll just go to Gab" wait for it.....
You HAVE to stop playing the defensive.

Which is how the Nazis took power.
First they came for soandso and I said nothing because I wasn't a soandso... rinse and repeat until they came for me.
