This is happening right now on our side. I enjoy digging for the truth on the internet about all things US politics and since the capitol rally it has been almost impossible to discern the truth as people all over the internet are either A: saying whatever gets them the most clicks/views or B: are experiencing cognitive dissonance due the the sheer amount of bullshit being posted online and spreading disinfo.

It's quite incredible watching this unfold and I myself have been experiencing it myself after lead upon lead eventually turns into misinformation.
