Like how they tried to attribute responsibility for the deaths of the three state police officers that died in the helicopter crash after the unite the right rally to the right wing.
if the officer was killed and there is evidence then the people responsible for that need to own up to it. Attacking a police officer who is acting faithfully in their duties is completely unacceptable. I am not going to change my opinion on that simply because I might happen to sympathize with the larger movement that provided the context for that confrontation. I demand the same from those who sympathize with other causes and I believe in intellectual consistency.
yeah i saw the family statement, but if he was beaten with clubs, that is murder. if he tripped and fell and hurt his head that is another thing. I am seeing many conflicting accounts. I m interested in the truth. I believe in personal responsibility, which i think is kinda the cornerstone of conservatism, so for me, if someone beat this cop and he died as a result of that, they should be held accountable.
Yeah, for sure. I did see one or two people on video flinging fire extinguishers and such, but most of what I saw was people helping Police officers back to their feet if they ended up getting knocked down by the surge of the crowd.
i get it, i can take 300 hours of footage and put together a super cut of Americans helping Americans, and cops showing respect for protesters and vice versa, and i can also take that same 300 hours and make a super cut of people bashing windows, attacking the police, and doing things that do not reflective values of Trump or anyone I associate with. Well guess what clips the editors of our national media are going to use to create the official narrative of what transpired?? We need to be critical of our own and self police if we are comfortable with others creating the images that will be used to define all of us. Stuff like this just drives people under ground. I want to be able to proudly and openly express my political beliefs without spending the first 30 minutes of every conversation explaining how XYZ doesn't reflect those values, and isn't an accurate description of what Trump advocates for. If MAGA people are going to gather, well then MAGA needs to do a better job self policing.
i didn't say it is collective guilt - but to be honest, if i were there, the second i saw people attacking police I would be out of there. And for the people saying optics does not matter, like it or not, marching with the confederate flag in 2021 is bad optics and hurts Donald Trump, and the rest of his supporters.
Trump got at least 75 million votes. That's a lot, and with some rebel flag flying supporters and all.
How long we gonna play footsie with the NWO?
There has to be reasonable escalation at some point.
it is a forced error. Completely unnecessary. This is not a war of force, it is a culture war - and you win that war by controlling the narrative. Well guess what, the Left controls the narrative. So yeah, you can preach the the choir, but if you lose the congregation, you don't have a church. So things like that matter. It doesn't even make sense being there in the context of trying to "take back America." I defend it as a cultural symbol for people in the south who put it on the back of their pick up truck as a point of pride over a shared experience, but to raise it while descending upon the US Capitol? What is the message? We can't be this stupid.
I like it as a cultural symbol for myself because all my ancestors fought for the confederacy, but you wouldn't think of that by looking at me, or talking to me. I'm not into public displays of it at all, except say at reenactments or something.
However we are the right, and people can do what they want to within reason. We understand that it doesn't really reflect on everyone else in the million person crowd if a couple of people fly the confederate flag.
I remember back when occupy wall street was strong it was a hodgepodge of various messages and signage. From anti-war to bank accountability and wealth inequality. At some point the emerging leadership became convinced that being all over the place was a point of weakness.
They cracked down progressively harder on the signs variety and decided to settle on the message of income inequality. Started to organize and regulate everything.
I had been observing their progression over the months walking around town. I decided to stop and warn them of this trend and that it would destroy the movement. They listened politely, but paid no heed because I was just a young looking kid.
Less than a month later they were done. Goose cooked.
occupy morphed into BLM - now their logo is painted on professional sports playing fields. Also, like I said, everything that can be shown reflects on Trump. If we create the images that our opponents can and will use against us, then that is an unforced error. Like I said, I can produce a super cut of all footage with patriotic music and slow motion shots of thousand of US flags and protestors shaking hands with cops and taking selfies, but I can also make a cut with confederate flags, Q banners, people attacking the police, being crude and unhinged and a bevy of other things that make Trump and his supporters look crazy and violent. Well, guess what version of events they will use to rally for impeachment? What version they will use to discredit voices like mine?
We already know BLM was standing next to Ashli Babbit. We know he was caught and released. Peaceful protesters were allowed in by police as paid agitators were there to make it look much worse than it ended up looking because Trump was prepared.
No peaceful protesters were really allowed in.
Yes, there were some BLM people there, but I think their impact was nearly negligible aside from maybe doing the dirty work of opening the windows.
buillshit. patriots where there as a show of support. antifa and inspired others to go into the capitol, and there is video of the cops letting them in orderly through the back.
Show support for the confirmation of Biden?
On the walk over to the Capitol, Pence issued a statement that he was going to approve and seal that travesty.
The crowd said nuh-uh and shut down the proceedings. They had to come back and do it at 2-3 am.
Yeah for the most part.
I know a lot of what happened and most of the explaining away people are trying to do is extremely inaccurate, and counterproductive I believe.
I doubt I'm alone in thinking the slicknick death doesnt pass the smell test. And now even MSM is finding holes in it.
I was always dubious as well.

His family has made a statement feeling that his death is being politicized. It seems he had a stroke after reporting back to the office.

You could not find a person farther from a democrat than myself. I am just not stupid.
Obviously if someone used deadly force against that officer they should be held responsible, but that's not a collective guilt.
i didn't say it is collective guilt - but to be honest, if i were there, the second i saw people attacking police I would be out of there. That's just like, your opinion man.

You’re correct. All bullshit to switch the narrative. Focus On the signal not the noise

Wrong. You think you got it figured out from watching a 10 second gif?
i guess you do have it figured out. prolly the only one here...congrats.
