Do we know if it's going to run a proprietary OS? Musk would probably need to create a phone if we don't want the first 10 years of the Gab phone to be shit. Not saying they can't do it but even Microsoft saw a failure.
The Windows phone failed due to the lack of apps. This would be a different market but it seems like we're moving away from apps anyway. The web and network speeds are becoming advanced enough that we can just have shortcuts to the web version of whatever we need.

I'd tolerate a lack of apps if I knew my phone wouldn't be throttled, downgraded, bricked or spied upon.

There are simple phones like that. Kinda pricey because they’re proud of being nothing but a phone + maybe GPS and that’s it, no App Store.
Won’t work for me because I’m an entrepreneur and I need all of my CRM stuff on my phone but it’s worth looking upon.
