Do we know if it's going to run a proprietary OS? Musk would probably need to create a phone if we don't want the first 10 years of the Gab phone to be shit. Not saying they can't do it but even Microsoft saw a failure.
The Windows phone failed due to the lack of apps. This would be a different market but it seems like we're moving away from apps anyway. The web and network speeds are becoming advanced enough that we can just have shortcuts to the web version of whatever we need.
No it wasn't. UX-wise early WP is the best phone-UX I've used. There were several problems with WP, but it really just came down to apps and execution.
They came in too late and too early at the same time. Too late because IOS and Android were already established. Too early because they rebooted it 2 years later.
They kept screwing over their customers with reboots and refocusing, and moving away from their original intent of building it around the user.
To this day I would rather have a phone with the UX of WP7 mixed with the capabilities of WP 8.1 than something running IOS/Android.
