There's a chance the House impeaches or tries to, but little chance the Senate can have the trial.
The US Senate is out of session until the day before inauguration. If the steal holds and the Ho and Joe are sworn in, and Trump is not in office, how do you impeach someone where the penalty is removal from office? If they persist, the US Senate shutdowns all other business until the trial is over, so Biden gets none of his confirmations even discussed.
Why?

Yell "and don't come back" to someone leaving anyway.
To try and ensure if the Steal is stopped, they still 'get' him.
Possibly disqualify him for a future run, if he's still interested, after taking crap for more than 4 years.
Mess up his post-presidency privileges and responsibilities.
Probably a number of possible reasons you can come up with if you change "Trump" To "Hillary" and flip control of the House.

For us peons, impeachment is similar to being indicted or charged with an offense under the law.
The trial follows. When the trial jury doesn't convict you walk free. Peons get a unanimous or super majority jury depending on local law. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices and such get a simple majority.
Trump was impeached once.
He was not convicted.
If he was one of us peons the terms: "Bogus and made up charges" & "Prosecutorial Misconduct" would apply to the DA as they should have been by the partisan US House.
Trump did nothing illegal.
