I lost most of my library a couple years ago when my media drive died. Had most of the movies backed up on Blu-ray DVD's until external large capacity USB drives got cheap enough to use as a backup. It's no big deal to lose a dozen or so movies, but when you've built that library up to several terabytes, it's a disaster.
I bought the best quality 2 TB SSD Samsung offers. Filled out up completly during quarantine cause I saw the writing on the wall. Now I'm filling up random SSDs, HDDs, and NVMe drives. I'm trying to save as much culture as possible for my kids
I love BitTorrent, give the Hollywood Faggots nothing, they are your enemies, they are our enemies. Never pay for a movie ever again. These child molesters want you dead. Only buy Movies from Mel Gibson and John Woods, the rest openly hate America and looking to make it into a communist hell hole.
never give them penny, not at the box office, not on streaming.....just Borrow a copy via a VPN service from the internet.
I’ve been collecting everything on my local nas server. And hooking raspberry pi’s with kodi on them to the server. It’s nice being able to access anything we have on the server from anywhere at home. And I can rip anything I own to it. No need for physical copies after ripping them. Saves a ton of space.
I have about 500ish between the BRD and DVDs. Cant seem to access my digital downloads on Amazon before I purge it, but I can shadowplay them if I let one run while I work on the house or something. Not a big loss if I dont; theres only a handful of things there and I probably grabbed the DVD from the 5$ Wal Mart bin at some point anyway.
You have Braveheart and The Patriot in that collection? I only have like 10 dvds but I've got those 2
I've got everything on a Plex server now. All in HD and 5.1 Dolby.
Plex is awesome. Looking to bail on Apple Music and get my music collection on plex.
PLEX + radarr, sonarr, and lidarr. Plus a good VPN. I use Nord
I use nord too. I haven’t heard of the arr apps you mentioned but I will look them up. 👍🏻
I ran out of space on my Plex server. I need to upgrade my SSD

Haha I've been hanging on to all my analog media too! They're in storage boxes at the moment ...
Which movies? I need something to watch.
Oh I was just mainly looking for suggestions. Something fast paced, maybe.
Absolutely! So many must haves in that era.
Three years. Possession of material deemed dangerous to the state and/or societal health will be illegal. Just a mind exercise.
I love 💕 my DVDs!!

Because THIS IS THE WAY!

Glad I kept my 500 LP records
2500
I’ve got a collection of about 400 horror movies on blu-ray including a lot of out of print stuff.
What's the rarest horror you have?
I’d have to go look but I have a lot of Arrow video and Vinegar Syndrome stuff. A lot of it is out of print.
i got that plus 1000 vhs and 4 working vcrs
You know they do! Why keep them they are taking up a whole room? My reply is always i watch what i want to not what i am programmed to. Thanks
Feels good fren. Still have a bunch of used DVDs with Blockbuster stickers on them.
Hard storage.
There is no alternative to hard storage.
Very hard storage.
I've got over 5k dead tree books. For when they digitally edit the classics. "A Canticle for Leibowitz" had a profound effect on me as a lass.
Edited to say: yes I've read every one.
I plan on it. 👌
Never had streaming services. I've only got a huge collection of DVDs and a number of Blu-Rays. That's all I need.
Makes me wish Blockbuster didn’t get fcked, ngl..... That place is great.

Is the player working?
Anyone know of a REALLY good (and free) software to convert all my DVDs to video format to load up the external HDD?
I too have a large movie collection (only the good stuff) but got rid of the DVD player a long time ago.
I know, but I want to move to a Plex server. Something cool about browsing through your movies on a screen instead of a DVD folder.
Glad I pirate the fuck out of everything
Hahaha! Yep! It's actually nice to go back the physical media. It feels better.

You’re welcome
Yeah I got a synology Nas for stuff I actually care about. Photos from all about phones back up to it, ip cameras record to it, all that crap.
